    Product Overview

Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by our rare and unusual Asparagus Twig Absolute! Far from the familiar green vegetable, it has a deep, complex, dry, woody-mossy aroma with distinct notes of tobacco, cocoa, and hay along with animalic, salty, and earthy mushroom undertones. Yes, with all of that and more, Asparagus Twig Absolute will certainly add intrigue and tenacity to your floral, Amber, woody, animalic, Oud, gourmand, and leather accords.

Solvent extracted at our facility in France, Asparagus Twig Absolute is produced from the woody twigs and foliage of the plant, also known as cladodes, that remain after the asparagus shoots have been harvested in the spring. These aerial parts naturally dry through the summer sun until they are milled by our local partner growers. By collecting and upcycling this material, we make the most of our agricultural resources, transforming a by-product into a unique perfumery ingredient.

Asparagus Twig Absolute falls beautifully into the Agrestic aroma family – alongside Absolutes such as Hay, Tobacco, and Oakmoss – a category known for evoking the scent of bucolic countrysides, sun-warmed meadows, and fresh-turned earth. Used in heart or base accords, it lends depth and body to compositions, harmonizing with a wide range of notes, including fresh, green, earthy, spicy, gourmand, and citrus. Try it paired with, or as an alternative to Tobacco or Oakmoss Absolute in your dark, masculine cigar and leather compositions, chypres, dirty florals, or moody fougères.

At once familiar and entirely unexpected, Asparagus Twig Absolute can add sophisticated complexity to classic perfume types or help you create niche fragrances that defy categorization.

When it comes to our scalp, we sometimes forget that it’s not just where hair grows, but it’s also part of our skin. Dry scalp – that tight, sensitive feeling, often accompanied by dry or lackluster hair – may be an extension of dry skin, or is often a sign that the scalp’s natural moisture balance has been disrupted.

Why You Need Mushroom in Your Perfume

There’s a dirty little secret known to experienced perfumers: the most intriguing fragrances always contain something a little ‘off.’ Historically, formulators used animal-derived aromas like ambergris, civet, and castoreum, now mostly replaced by synthetic versions.
