Winter Recipes

Written By: Eden Botanicals

We all deserve a little pampering before, during and after the holidays. This time of year often means stress, dry skin and a chill in the bones. Included in this blog post are recipes for a Warming Shower Oil, Winter Wake-Up Room Spray, two Diffuser Blends and a Facial Serum for Dry Winter Skin.

Whether you use these formulas for a loved one or yourself, we hope you get inspired!

Warming Shower Oil

Use a clean 2 ounce glass bottle with tight fitting cap. Fill with 58 ml (about 1.8 ounces) Jojoba Oil Organic or Fractionated Coconut Oil, then add:

  • 4 parts = 16 drops Laurel Leaf Organic
  • 1 part = 4 drops Clove Bud Organic
  • 3 parts = 12 drops Eucalyptus, Blue Mallee
  • Cap bottle and gently roll bottle between hands to combine the contents. Use on cold extremities / limbs before, during or after showertime.

    Winter Wake-Up Room Spray

In a clean 2 oz (60 ml) glass or aluminum spray bottle, pour 1.5 ounces (45 ml) distilled water and 2 teaspoons (10  ml) of Vodka; to this add:

  • 4 parts = 17 drops Spruce, Black Organic
  • 3 parts = 12 drops Juniper Berry - Organic
  • 2 parts = 8 drops Spearmint Organic
  • 4 parts = 17 drops Orange, Wild
  • Shake well before spraying.

    Air Cleansing Diffuser Blend

Add this blend to the water bath in your Ultrasonic Diffuser.

  • 6 drops Rosalina
  • 6 drops Fir, Balsam
  • 6 drops Orange, Wild
  • Winter Wonderland Diffuser Blend

Add this blend to the water bath in your Ultrasonic Diffuser.

  • 6 drops Frankincense, Somalia
  • 6 drops Fir, Balsam
  • 2 drops Cinnamon Bark - Organic
  • Facial Serum for Dry Winter Skin

In a clean one ounce (30 ml) glass bottle, add:

  • ½ oz = 15 ml Sunflower Oil Organic
  • ¼ oz = 7.5 ml Pomegranate Seed CO2 Organic
  • ¼ oz = 7.5 ml Rosehip Seed CO2 Organic
  • 3 drops Myrrh, Somalia
  • 3 drops Frankincense, Somalia
  • 4 drops Geranium, Africa Organic
  • 1 drop Ylang Ylang Complete - Organic
  • Cap bottle and gently roll bottle between hands to combine the contents. Apply sparingly (1-2 drops at a time) to clean skin, especially areas where fine lines may develop near the outer corners of the eyes and mouth, between the eyebrows, and the forehead, also to the throat and areas of dryness, puffiness, or uneven skin tone. NOTE: be careful to avoid applying too close to the eyes, as this preparation will thin and spread as it warms on the skin.
