Product Overview

Our organic Sunflower Oil is wonderfully light and emollient with a high oleic acid content of approximately 85% (conventional Sunflower oil has approximately 27%). Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat, is the most abundant fatty acid found in human body fat - making high oleic Sunflower oil the optimal choice for replenishing thirsty skin in massage and for enhancing skin barrier functions, especially in newborns. High oleic acid Sunflower Oils are less susceptible to rancidity and have a longer shelf life than high-linoleic types.[1]

Sunflowers are found abundantly in North America and Europe, making high oleic Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus) a sustainable, economical, and sound ecological choice. This organic oil is non-GMO, expeller pressed, filtered through clay, and winterized, meaning waxes have been removed from the oil by cooling it and removing solid particles so that it will stay clearer and more liquid.

Herbal formulators commonly use Sunflower Oil as a base for making infused oils with herbs and flowers.[2] It is beneficial for all skin types, imparts suppleness, and has superb moisture-conserving properties. It also provides conditioning for dry scalp and dry and heat-damaged hair.
