Product Overview

Unlike the synthetic Amber perfumes that are commonly sold, Fossilized Amber Oil has a completely different aromatic profile. The extraction process yields a dark, viscous oil with smoky, resinous, leathery, tar-like, woody-dry notes and hints of Pine and balsamic overtones. The aroma is not sweet at all and because of this it is not often used as the main note in a perfume unless modified with other aromatic oils.

While there are several sources for Amber throughout the world, Eden Botanicals is the sole source in North America for this rare form of Fossilized Amber Oil. Compared to the oil extracted from Baltic Amber, our Fossilized Amber Oil is extracted from 35-million-year-old Himalayan fossilized tree resin.[1] Unlike our oils from living plants, there is no essential oil that can be directly obtained from the fossilized resin. Instead, the oil comes from a process called “dry distillation” whereby the Amber resin is processed over high heat until an oily substance is obtained.[2]

When used in trace amounts, Fossilized Amber provides unique and interesting nuances in natural perfumes. It dissolves in both 190 proof alcohol and fixed oils and makes an excellent fixative and base note. For a pre-blended and easy to use dilution of this oil, please see our Amber Oil, Fossilized - 5%.

Very strong & bold

Rating

Oud lovers will fall in love with this oil. Thick viscosity & black. The top note is intense, almost spicy with piney scent. The dry down lingers for hours. Smells woodsy with a leather back ground . Once again if to strong go with the 5 % dilution. Very beautiful oil to have in my collection !!

WOW I LOVE IT TOO MUCH

Rating

I have already one of amber (1/8) and I think it's important if want to make your fragrance very smooth, woody, and smoky. I like it very much. 10/10

amber fossilized oil is the best natural fixative of aroma fileds.

Rating

My opinon is that amber fossilized oil is much more preferred because it is joyful, mellow and is rich in fragrance. But Amber oil has an empyreuma petroleum smell. 10ml sandalwood oil is blended with two drops of amber fossilized oil, the pleasant aroma can last longer and never thin out. Amber fossilized oil is the best natural fixative in the aroma field.

Amazing Quality

Rating

This dark rich amber is amazing. It is smoky, sweet & very smooth. I have not found anything that begins to compare with the quality of this amber. A little goes a LONG way.

Flash Points: What They Mean for Formulators

You may have come across the term flash point when working with essential oils and wondered what it really means. Technically a safety specification, flash points are used to classify materials like essential oils for handling and transport, but they can also influence how you choose to formulate with them.

Chia and Cacay Eye Oil for Dry Winter Skin

Winter has a magical way of transforming the landscape with beauty, but it sure can be tough on the skin. Cold temperatures, low humidity, and dry indoor heat are particularly harsh on the delicate eye area, often leaving skin feeling tight and looking fatigued.
