Product Overview

Use our Sandalwood powder in multiple skincare applications as well as part of a natural incense base. This ultra-fine powder is made from the ground heartwood of ethically harvested trees in Australia and is often used in skin and body care preparations as an exfoliant or added to a clay mask. The warm, light woody and sweet aroma inspires an ambiance of peaceful contemplation and lends elevating and centering properties to skincare and incense blends.

Incorporated into personal care products such as scrubs or masks, Sandalwood powder can be used to help to cleanse and tonify the complexion as it softens and improves the appearance of skin texture or congested skin. Additionally, it makes an excellent base for incense. It imparts a light, pleasant aroma and allows a slow and even burn - a wonderful component to any ritual incense blend! In soapmaking, it can be used to add texture to bars.

In Australia, Sandalwood (including its lumber, seed oil, nuts and powder) has been used for fodder, fuel and fragrance, in aboriginal art, and in religious and spiritual practices for thousands of years. Santalum spicatum is native to Western Australia, where the Forests Products Commission (FPC) manages the sustainable harvesting of Sandalwood forests.

Outstandingly fragrant, remarkable depth

Rating

I made a tincture with this, and it came out beautifully. It was hard to believe it didn’t have sandalwood oil in it. I used 6 grams of this per 12 grams of PA and this resulted in over 8 grams of a highly aromatic tincture. (I perhaps could have filtered more out but I was not filled with patience that day). I added in another 5% Mysore sandalwood oil and I’ve now got a truly deep, sensual base to build upon that one would think was at least 30% sandalwood oil. I’m looking forward to using in a homemade kyphii-style incense recipe in the near future as well as tincturing larger amounts. I can see how many more possibilities there are, as this is great quality and beautifully fragrant. As soon as I can afford to buy this in a larger portion, that’s the plan.

Love this - versatile for skin and scalp

Rating

I've tried a few things with this. I made a face mask; you can add it alone or with essential oils to your favorite base such as sunflower seedate, veg glycerin, avocado, etc. I added it to my fragrance free face cleanser and love it for sensitive skin exfoliation. Feels really good to massage in. I added it to a hair styling product for added texture, I added it to the blend I made for thinning hair and itchy/flaky/irritated scalp. I also tried it sprinkled dry on the scalp as a sort of "dry shampoo" to absorb oil and give texture. All around a great addition and for me the bonus is that it's sandalwood! Has a light aroma of my favorite essential oil.

Not Bad

Rating

I used this powder to accompany burning resin with charcoal. It is very mild and only lightly sweet. If you are looking for a strong sandalwood scent, this likely is not the one; however, this product is pleasant to use and I am not disappointed.
