Product Overview
Our organic Cranberry Seed Oil is cold-pressed and unrefined to preserve its impressive combination of plant nutrients. Its star-studded lineup includes a unique balance of Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids at about 30% each, all 8 forms of vitamin E tocopherols and tocotrienols, polyphenols such as quercetin, and provitamin A carotenoids, all contributing to its superior antioxidant properties.[1] This skin-conditioning ‘superseed’ carrier oil helps improve the appearance of sun-exposed skin and is beneficial to all skin types and all ages, particularly dry, mature, and sensitive.
The rich antioxidant content and balance of essential fatty acids in Cranberry Seed Oil have led author and teacher Susan Parker of Lipid Oils Academy to call it a complete facial oil all on its own. Indeed, it’s exceptional to find a carrier oil this nourishing and moisturizing that also has a lightweight feel. Tannins in the seeds give Cranberry Seed Oil the fine texture of a ‘dry oil’ – silky on the skin without feeling heavy or greasy. Its lightly astringent qualities are beneficial for overactive and oily skin, yet also help mature and dry skin retain moisture. Phytosterols support skin elasticity and the skin’s own protective barrier against environmental impurities.
Cranberry Seed Oil can be applied directly to the skin or added to facial serums and cosmetic products for after-sun care, lip care, baby care, lotions and creams, body oils, and aromatherapy blends. It is particularly indicated in formulations that help improve the appearance of sensitive or sun-exposed skin, or for strengthening and replenishing dull, dry hair. Cranberry Seed Oil’s softening and conditioning properties make it a popular addition in nourishing scalp oils, soaps, scrubs, and body polishes.
Cranberry Seeds are a by-product of the juice industry, making Cranberry Seed Oil an excellent choice for sustainable skincare. Perfumers may enjoy the lightly fruity aroma as part of the base of oil-based perfumes.
